Cool, where have you seen it in person?
![]() 09/08/2016 at 07:25 |

It was at this weekend’s Zandvoort Historic Grand Prix. There was a BMW Centenary Trophy: BMW 2002 meets BMW 3.0 CSL race. Picture isn’t mine though, a friend just sent it to me ;-)

Those wheels are awesome

I think both the entire 2002 and CSL hommages are AWESOME! But excellent wheels indeed.

Those wheels. That livery. So good.
![]() 09/08/2016 at 09:04 |

Totally, did you notice what the Jägermeister deer was replaced with?
![]() 09/08/2016 at 09:55 |

A turbo?
![]() 09/08/2016 at 10:07 |

I think both the 2002 and CSL Hommages are amazing, but I much prefer them in their respective racing schemes
![]() 09/08/2016 at 12:00 |

I think it is. And it is AWESOME!
![]() 09/08/2016 at 12:04 |

Most amazing was the fact they were here (the Netherlands) in the first place: these were in Pebble beach just two weeks ago. And they went on track with these vintage 02's and CSL’s!!!

It’s full of great little touches. Like turbo being written backwards on the splitter so you know what’s coming for you.
![]() 09/08/2016 at 13:57 |
|
Yeah, just like the original the Hommage is all about:
![]() 09/08/2016 at 14:03 |

It would be better if the “turbo” badge was backwards on the 2002 homage.
![]() 09/08/2016 at 16:31 |
|
You won’t be able to read that in your rearview mirror anyway I’m afraid...
![]() 09/08/2016 at 17:17 |
|
I know but it would be a great little detail.
![]() 09/08/2016 at 20:14 |

Thats a cool BMW. No chance of that car being available from the factory?
![]() 09/08/2016 at 23:23 |
|
Too cool. And those Martini cars in the background are awesome, too. What do you think the red #2 is?
![]() 09/09/2016 at 02:51 |
|
I doubt it. But I certainly hope so. Underneath it’s “just” an M2 but I’m not sure if it will meet stuff like pedestrian safety regulations.Or if it will be a solid businesscase in the first place.
![]() 09/09/2016 at 03:55 |
|
The #2 is an 02. And these are not Martini liveried, it’s the colors of M-Motorsport! These are awesome indeed.
There was a BMW Centenary Trophy: BMW 2002 meets BMW 3.0 CSL race during the Historic Grand Prix at Zandvoort last weekend. Both these concepts ended up on the track!

Ah, yeah. It’s blue purple and red, I see. That's a pretty neat meet. Is that an orange 02 back there, too? I like the number font on #25. That's a cool, outrageous looking car. They should sell a few of those.
![]() 09/11/2016 at 07:19 |
|
It is, a 2002 TI with double Solexes. Speaking of fonts: according to my little bro the DKW script is some La Salle, like this one .
Both the CSL and 2002 hommage should be produced in a small series. I’d be interested in that Türbomeister heavily!
![]() 09/11/2016 at 19:40 |
|
That is close. It’s not exactly like that DKW script, though. The original’s more squished and German looking.
I think they’d find a lot of interest in Turbomeisters. I wouldn’t be embarrassed to drive one. Are those gold wheels it has one-offs?
![]() 09/12/2016 at 03:16 |
|
Well, he looked at the pictures of the DKW on my phone so I’ll forgive ‘m for not pointing out the correct one instantly.
I’d add an umlaut to the Turbo, looks and sounds way better: Der Türbomeister! Maybe even add that ø. No idea where those wheels are from. They are epic though.
![]() 09/12/2016 at 03:27 |
|
I’ll forgive him, too. This time.
Türbømeïstêr. It would look good in that DKW/LaSalle font, too.
![]() 09/12/2016 at 05:05 |
|
I’ll let him know. I’m sure he’ll be grateful!
We need that for a top of the line Wanke r l.
![]() 09/13/2016 at 00:20 |
|
That looks amazing. If BMW is not using it for a production car, we’re definitely stealing it. We didn’t discuss a turbo version, but obviously we need one.
![]() 09/13/2016 at 03:47 |
|
The environment needs us to put turbos on everything. We love them trees!
![]() 09/14/2016 at 01:15 |
|
We do love trees. And turbos, so it’s a good thing. The 5-pot is the first turbo I’ve ever actually owned myself and I like it.
![]() 09/14/2016 at 03:52 |
|
And it’s still a Türbø with a jet-lag, more recent generations of Turbos are way more refined. But probably don’t sound as cool.
![]() 09/15/2016 at 02:22 |
|
Yeah, I enjoy the lag. It makes you know it’s there. And the whine is awesome especially when you turn it off. I forgot I also had an A4 with the türbø 2.0. I liked that car, too, but something was always wrong with it.
![]() 09/15/2016 at 04:40 |
|
Which gen of A4 did you drive and was it an Avant? I almost bought an S4 in the past, just the fact the dealer wouldn’t provide me with any kind of warranty for this low mileage car kept me off.
![]() 09/15/2016 at 22:01 |
|
It wasn’t an Avant, no, just a sedan. Bright red, though. It was a 2001. I don’t think I’d buy a used Audi without a warranty. My dad’s have usually been trouble free, though. But, he leases.
![]() 09/16/2016 at 02:30 |
|
Nice! That 2.0TFSI is a great engine. Manuèl?
How much miles does he do within the leasing period?
![]() 09/16/2016 at 02:40 |
|
Of course manuèl. I enjoyed driving that car when I could. It was comfy, too.
That’s a good question. Probably 20,000.
![]() 09/16/2016 at 03:26 |
|
Haha, 20k! Well, you don’t expect that much issues in such a short period. How’s his plans for the Corvette?
![]() 09/17/2016 at 00:40 |
|
Right. Unless he destroys it, which has happened. I haven’t talked to him about the ‘Vette in a while, but his plan was to order it in the winter so he’d get it by summer.
